Thanks for your responce Jan.........I heard from the shop today and they said my old 60 hp had great compression test and checked out good except a switchbox which they replaced and I am now back in business with this old 60 hp. I only had this combination of this old Mariner motor on this 150 fish boat out a few times last season and yes it pushed the boat around the lake at good speed....but not a lot faster than yours...it did 33 mph as i recall.....I thought that was great. The motor is heavy so when I first tried to plane out my wife freaked out at the bow rising but a couple seconds later we were up and planing and she mellowed out....she was not used to that action with this old 60 hp mariner on my older boat which was a 1967 runabout larson that needed a larger motor anyway. I guess I am back in business for this season maybe and am going to enjoy this plastic boat a lot......there are so many things about it I like even though it is small....which in it's self is something I like at this point. Take care

Gary
