Though I have not "gutted" mine I suspect (pretty much sure) that the forward battery box drain goes to the bilge and the live well drains out the hull in the stern of the boat.

The livewell though is below the water line when in the water yet the drain for the well is not flush with the bottom of the well when out of the water. Thus it is hard to ever get totally dry and many times I will just use another sponge ball to plug up the live well pick up to help save on draft since I rarely use mine.
