I'm on the west coast. When my boat was delivered it had some diesel fume type greasy smears on the hull even though shrink wrapped. I guess the wrap had become torn. Anyway, my salesman and I were looking the boat over as the yard guy was cleaning it. My salesman told me and the yard guy to use some mechanic's hand cleaner on the greasy smears. Wow does it work! It's the cream you can buy at the automotive stores. JUst wipe it on and wipe it off. Almost no pressure needed!

My salesman said that since I'm going to keep my boat in the water I might as well buy a big can of it and when I haul it out to trailer it, use the cream on the water line to remove the accumulated soot and grease from the marina. Said it works like a dream.
