The site is is great. I have met a couple of real nice folks over the past two weeks on this site. Look forward to actually meeting them and their families in the future. It has kept me entertained since I've been out on medical leave, hope to be back working next week or the week after. Too bad the weather here on the west coast of FL has not cooperated, was looking to get some serious fishing done. Being the weather geek that I am, I was thinking that a section in the photo area would be nice for photos of cloud formations, water spouts(hopefully no one is actually in danger) or any other weather related pictures. Being boaters we are all very dependent on the weather, and I'm sure some of us have pics and even some stories to go with them. I know in my short time of owning a boat I have my share.

I posted my vote earlier when it first came out, under further recent review maybe my perception of the site has been misdiagnosed,I thought it was people helping other people with boat/motor issues that plague ALL boat owners, as well as sharing mods and tech tips, Seems I've seen in most help fix it areas there is always a rebuttal on a fix to send it to this marine place or that marine place when a simple fix-it and common sense is in order,Is this site maintained and owned by a "marine place" or by the people who work for these "places". Just an observation that seemed all to occuring, other wise it's fun to be here and share 43yrs. of boat building experience and ownership.

I own and run the site and I am a film producer not a boat dealer. This site is full of tips and mods from owners. We have some dealers that participate in the site and welcome their participation. My dealer, Merritt Marine, fields some warranty and tech questions in the Tech Talk forum because I asked them to. I don't have a standard response to owner questions, but I personally wouldn't drill holes in the bottom of my hull for drains and that is why I responded earlier today about going to a dealer or contacting Merritt Marine who knows all about the mod. If I wanted to add the drain mod I would definitely take it to a dealer to get it done. That is just me though. If you're up to the task go for it!

There are obviously many guys here who have done most or all the mods mentioned on their own, I'm just not that confident in my own abilities to cut, plug or weld plastic. Sorry you got the impression that I was a boat dealer pushing my services. Kind of funny actually that you thought that. I doubt many would!

I'm glad you are a part of our site and I look forward to your 'simple fix-it and common sense tips'. With 43-years of experience many of us could learn a thing or two I'm sure. And if there is anything you'd recommend to make the site more 'owner friendly' please let me know.

Randy

Hi Randy, I never saw your post, and Dick at Merrit Marine is also very informative, and very quick to respond on warranty issues and parts at reasonable prices, Obviously you took this as an issue I might have with your post and It wasn't in the equation,Never saw it, it was another poster that seems to advertise to frequently instead of useful advice to help a fellow owner with very simple fixes, sorry for the confusion on our part, Check my post and see the past advice??? It's all good, and thanks for your time. Dan

Thanks Dan. I'm serious about your 43 years of experience and learning from you! My Triumph that I sold three months ago was my first boat ever. I've got a new 215 Chaos on order for next Spring that I am very excited about, but I am definitely a novice. I know more about computers and websites! So any tips are most appreciated. I'd really like to add some articles to the site with regular maintenance information and boat care. If any of you guys are interested in writing something please let me know.

Thumbs up

Randy,

As a dealer for Triumph's I'm sure you can imagine how enthusiastic I am about this site. It makes my job and the job of all Triumph Dealers and sales staff easier. You are providing an invaluable service to us and I want to thank you pesonally. Over the past year there hasn't been a potential customer that I haven't asked to visit the site before purchasing. I believe that this is the only "unbiased" place that a potential Triumph Owner can get thier information from. It's all here for everyone to see, the good, the bad, and the exceptional....

Thanks for all your hard work...it's truly apprieciated!
