You can now enter your registration online for the 2007 Triumph Owners Tournament to be held July 27-28 in Southport, NC. To register online, fill out the form located here, print out your email confirmation and send with a check made out to Blackbarry Marine to:
Triumph Owners Tournament c/o Blackbarry Marine 4888 Coastal Drive South East Southport, NC 28461 All the information on the event is listed on the registration page. There is additional information regarding hotels, etc. along with an attendance poll in this thread: 2007 Triumph Boats Fishing Tournament & Get Together Special thanks to Triumph Boats and to these Triumph Dealers for their sponsorship of this event:
50% percent of the proceeds from the tournament will go to support the Cameron Boys Wilderness Camping program of NC Baptist Children's Homes. However, the Calcutta "Big Fish" events will be 100% payout. Again details are listed on the Registration page. NOTE: Here is some information regarding the entry fees. Please send any questions to us via email. Entry fees - Offshore King Mackerel and/or Inshore Flounder:
If you have a Lady Angler on board and want to enter her (1 or more) that is $25 per boat (not per person). Same is true for kid anglers under the age of 12. It is $25 per boat to have a kid angler in contention to win the Kid Angler division. The Calcutta is a "Big Fish" payout. Everyone that enters the Calcutta has a chance to win all the money from the entries in that Calcutta event. So for instance if 20 boats enter the Inshore Flounder Calcutta at $50 per boat, the total payout in that division would be $1000, divided among three boats with the largest Flounder winning $500, 2nd largest winning $300 and third place winning $200, based on the payout percentages listed on the registration form. The payout is determined by the number of boats that enter that Calcutta event, but our charity does not receive proceeds from the Calcutta event so 100% of the entries in each Calcutta event are paid out to the biggest fish winners in that division. Also, each person on the boat fishing will need to secure a NC fishing license. You can learn more about this here and you can purchase the license online (NC residents and non-residents) by going to: http://www.ncwildlife.org/ Click on the "Purchase Licenses" button and follow the instructions to purchase an annual or short-term fishing license. State Coastal Recreational Fishing — 10 Day licenses are $5.00 for NC residents and $10.00 for non-residents. Here is a direct link to the NC Fishing License online purchase site. |

Well I'll be heading out in a couple of hours to South Port. I hope many of you will be down this weekend for the Triumph Owners Tournament. If you haven't sent in your registration yet you can still participate by registering and paying this afternoon prior to the Captains meeting. Again there are two divisions: Offshore for King Mackerel and Inshore for Flounder. If you'd like to stop by but aren't interested in fishing we'll be at the Moose Lodge. Or you can drop by Blackbarry Marine, this year's tournament headquarters.
The Friday and Saturday evening events will be held at the Moose Lodge located at 4239 Long Beach Rd, Southport, just about a mile from the Wildlife Ramp. The weigh-in on Saturday afternoon will also take place at the Moose Lodge. I'm told there is plenty of parking at the Moose Lodge for boat and trailers. The Friday night social will include hot dogs and hamburgers and the Saturday night awards dinner at 6PM will be a catered BBQ dinner. It looks like the weather this year will be much better for fishing than last year. Thanks again to Triumph Boats and the Triumph Dealers of the Carolinas for putting on this event for Triumph owners. Tight lines all!

This past weekend was great. It was good to meet some new folks in person and the weather was awesome for fishing. However only two Kings were caught in the King Mackerel division. I'm not sure how many flounder were caught. One Triumph boat however did catch a 65 lb. Wahoo! Silly me forgot my camera for the awards dinner so I'll have to try to round up some photos from other sources. Hopefully some of the folks that attended will post some of their pictures of the weekend.
I want to thank the Triumph factory folks that attended along with all the dealers that participated. The event raised $2230.25 for the Cameron Boys Camp program of the Baptist Children's Homes. It is a ministry to help family in crisis. The Camp director and Director of Communications brought two boys down to speak at the dinner and they both did a great job. Here are a couple of photos of the 65 lb. Wahoo caught by Capt. Adam Kunda and Marlin Biggers of the "AFISHANADO" out of Chesapeake City, Maryland. They are assisted in getting the fish off the boat by two campers from Cameron Boys Camp, this year's charity organization. Way to go guys!
