Thumbs up 2008 TBOT July 11-12 POSTPONED till September

Hi all. I don't have a lot of the details yet but I do know that Portside Marina and Triumph Boats will be hosting Triumph Boat Owners for a get together and fishing tournament July 11-12 in Morehead City, NC. I'll post more details as soon as I can get them along with a pre-registration form. Denard Harris, owner of Portside Marina and Miramar Boats will be hosting the event again and has suggested a possible picnic for owners at the Cape Lookout Lighthouse either on Friday or earlier that week. It would be nice to have a fleet of Triumphs make our way around to the lighthouse, anchor up and share a meal together on the beach. I hope you'll make plans now to join us that weekend and Denard may be planning some other events earlier that week if you want make a week of it. Let us know in this thread if you plan to attend.

Blessings,
Randy

I'm not sure yet but if it is like last year we'll have the largest fish (King Mackerel and Flounder) and the three winners of the combined weight of three fish. I'll post details as soon as I have them. I hope many folks can come. I wish I'd been able to announce this sooner, but I just found out yesterday.

You know my answer on attending. I really hated missing last yr. I have fished 04, 05, 06. and if I have any say in it I will be there this yrs also. I may also be able to bring my son as he will be on leave at that time. The only possible problem would be when he has to return to Iraq. I really hope to BE THERE.

Tourney

Iwould love to be there but I have another fishing trip here that starts on the 12th and I don't think I can afford both. What a drag to have too many fishing opportunities! Mayhaps next year. I'll drool over the pictures later.

Need your input on the TBOT 2008

Hi folks. I'd like to get some feedback from those of you that have attended previous years on what species you'd like to fish for, how many categories, payout, etc.? I'll be working with Portside Marina and Triumph Boats in the next couple weeks to finalize details so your input will be very helpful in making it a Tournament get together that you will enjoy.

Randy,
I fished last years TBOT. I had a 170CC at the time. We had flounder for an inshore fish and King Mackeral for the offshore species. In July you could fish both species if the weather is good.I have a 195CC now and can fish a little offshore if the wind cooperates. I think those two species are good. That makes the payout a little better than splitting it up four ways.Just an opinion. Thanks again for having last years TBOT.Blackberry marine did a good job and the charity you choose was good.Listening to those two young boys speak about how much their life has change made the money, time and fighting the elements well worth it.
