Better owners manual, manual doesn't even address seacock on livewell pump. Dash sticker could help in "reminding" to open the seacock first before running the pump. Inner hull drains not addressed.

Better rigging/wiring in the console. Almost a bird's nest in there. Labels would help.

Rigging tuble needsto be longer, extend up through console floor in console. Diameter of rigging tube as big as possble to pass today's electornics plugs & connectors. Fishing wires thru exisitng tube only allows one pass.

Access to bilge pump/transom bilge needs to be MUCH better. Seacock for livewell pump almost impossibe to get to. Routing of drain hoses could be better to allow access to seacock.

Supply 3/4" livewell plugs made by Walk-Winn Company for the bow storage compartments instead of the brass/rubber livewell plugs. Not enough rubber shaft in the brass/rubber plugs so they wiggle out. Walk-Winn Company makes the perfect plastic/rubber livewell plugs for this. Should be factory supplied. Easy fix, this has frustrated me for whole season trying to find the right fitting plugs. See related post in 170CC forum.

Fix cosmectic bulging on bottom of hull at bow storage/inner hull area "kissoff." See pictures, which explains everthing.

Still best little boat I have had the pleasure to buy!

quality control

New boat problems that could have been avoided with proper QC inspection:
1. Incorrect circuit breakers installed for bilge and baitwell pumps
2. No lock washers on the thru bolts securing the grab rail to the console
3. Hull deformities that were eventually repaired by the factory
4. Stern seat back frames with improper welding - replaced by the factory

I second all of these issues noted by Eric G. Not strictly QC items but all valid points to make the boat better.

Paulgw -

Were your hull deformities like mine - 2007 triumph 170CC?

on the bottom of the hull? I was told Triumph would fix, but 5 months time with me S/H the boat to the factory.

I was assure that deformities were comestic only and part of the cooling process when hull comes out of the oven, within tolerances with no structural or hull intergretity comprimises.

3. The satelite radio antena needs to go on top, rather than on the dash. The t-top causes interference. (I moved up top, much better)
4. Drain for rod holders built in.
5. Better trailer lights from EZ loader- their waterproof lights leak. (my next project)
6. Improved scupper design. (I made my own and have no problems, before they would reverse fill into the bilge.)

Great boat, but I hear these problems over and over. If they could address them they would have an even greater boat. Some dealers are not up to speed on the transom drain plugs or do not want to go there.

Anyway my suggestions.
I have a 2002 190 and had the bilge filling due to the scuppers. It took me a while to figure out where the water was leaking into the bilge. At first I thought water was leaking from the live well. After several trips to the dealer to check for leaks (none found), I finally plugged the scuppers. This solved the problem and the bilge remains dry.

I have issues with my bait well pump. The seals leak excessively spraying more water into the bottom of the boat then into the bait well (2007 195CC). Is this covered by warranty?

Eric,
It's been a while since I've been on the site. Your hull deformities same as mine but mine were concave, not convex. I got them to fix it cause only 150 miles to the factory from home. I have no seacock on my baitwell line. That was an upgrade on the 2007.
I have all the real problems sorted out now.
I still think there's water getting in the boat somehow. Bilge pump will run while we are sitting in calm water or if we've pulled up & beached it to have lunch while we're out fishing.
you can't see the water coming in but it's definitely coming in somewhere. Factory plugged two holes the dealer drilled through the hull putting in the battery box.

I have the same issues with the pumps on my 2007 195CC. In fact both the bilge and raw water pumps were leaking and spraying all over. I replaced the bilge on my own dime and took my boat in for spring service at the dealer to have them replace the raw water pump (just picked it up yesterday and put her in the water).

As it turns out, they "forgot" to replace the raw water pump. Big inconvenience for me to go pick up the trailer from storage and pull the boat and trailer her about 1.5 hours away. I am waiting to see what we are going to do to get it replaced. If you search the forums for this topic, there are many posts on this. Seems this is common and Triumph is aware.

Is there a recall process for boats?

NJWardy,

If the work did not get completed on what was on the work order then the dealer should make this right for you. I would definitely keep in touch with the dealer on this.

If you are within the 1st year of warranty then yes it is covered.
