Fish Boxes

Hi,

According to the description on the Triumph web site the fish boxes are insulated. Is there insulation foam surrounding the fish box cavities underneath the deck ? Is it injected foam ?

Thank you.

I tried using my fish box as a cooler and the ice melted fast. I just dont think it can be called cooler or insulated. At least it is not enough to keep ice cold.

I have long dreamed of a custom "fishbox" liner that could be slid into place(and removed for cleaning). It would be a must for a "insulated foam lid" as I think alot of the problem is the lack of insulation is there. The "foam" Triumph's are injected with seems a heck of alot like the foam used in Igloo Marine 5 Day coolers as well as foam in a can....although the chemistry is probably different.

I have much better luck with block ice in fish boxes due to the loss of cold when opening large lids. I also throw a large thick plastic sheet over the contents (like an XL dry bag). I did add white rubber gaskets to improve the lid seal. I would imagine Triumph is already doing this with newer models.
