190bay baitwell spray direction

Can you tell me which direction the baitwell spray head is suppose to be pointing in the baitwell? There is a groove in the plastic fitting that allows it to shoot out the side when you have the black screw on plug inserted. Should it allow the water to shoot towards the side creating a circular water flow or straight down causing the water to roll over on itself?

I would think straight down in order to get the most oxyginated water down and through out the tank.

Down or outward is fine. Play with it and see if either direction allows for your bait to live longer.
