Boat: 2005 BAY 190
Issue: 36 volt trolling motor mounted on engine cavitation plate. Battery compartment for the three required batteries is in the bow. How can I run the battery cables from the stern to the bow? Where can I purchase tinned cables long enough to complete the run? Any answers out there? Chris |

Shop around the internet.
West Marine sells tinned cable, but, you will pay top dollar.

Try this: Cabela's -- Marine-Grade Wire= I used the 6 guage wire for my 24 volt trolling motor. You can pick up the battery terminal connectors at Boater's World. Ancor Ancor Battery Lugs - BoatersWorld.com Add some shrink wrap: Ancor 3/4'' Black/Red Heat Shrink - 326202 - BoatersWorld.com Here's a pic from my photos in the photo gallery: Message - Triumph Boat Owners - Photo Gallery Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck.

Bring it on...my rates are 1 cold beverage per hour...pretty cheap in the scheme of things. Actually, installing mine was a fairly easy project. You should have no problems.

Battery Cable
Assuming a .5 amp draw per pound of thrust, and a circuit length of 40 ft (from battery + to motor to battery -), you would need a minimum of 4 AWG wire. I can sell you the wire for 1.50/foot plus terminals & shipping, If you would like, I can crimp the terminals on before I ship you the wire. Let me know if you think you want to tackle the project yourself.
