water in bilge

I have a 05 210c/c. I keep the boat in the water during the season. There is always water in the bilge. The bilge pump comes on quite offten, as reported by the men that work on the dock.I
have not had any problems with the bilge not working.I checked the fittings and the drain plug
all were thigt.Ther are no holes in the bottom of the boat. We have gone throuh the rainy season, Do all triumphs take a long time for the water to work down to the bilge. Is this
natural.I,m worried about killing the batteries. Please help.

Hunter1, please try using the "search" feature on your question.

There have been a number of postings on this subject and some suggestions I thought were excellent that included backup systems etc.

I do remember one former post having the information that even the largest most expensive ships at sea have water in their bilge. Now lets see, water in a multi million dollar ship vs water in a boat that cost a few thousand. Guess I have no choice but to put up with a little water.

I'm most certain that my water comes through the baitwell pump or the hose going through the bottom of the hull. I had your same concern, but if you sit and listen, other boats do the same. I was parked next to three Glacier Bay's for sale and they did the same thing, although not as loud. The pump shoots the water out 3 feet!

I have had a big leak in a new Triumph 195 DC
it's not rain water
the bilge pump was not wired up right and I had came out one morning to find my battery under water
had to rewire everything due to electrolysis corrosion
there's no excuse for a 19 foot boat leaking an inch an hour
big boats have lots of other reasons to have water in the bilge

My guess is your raw water pump is leaking due to a crack. Replace it.

I checked with the factory on this for you and here was their response:

He needs to take his boat into the dealership. Most likely it will need a
check valve modification in the bow bin drains.

I'm not exactly sure what a "check valve modification in the bow bin drains" but I did locate the leak--on the starboard-most drain hole in the stern transom. I think that this does indeed go to the bow bins--which by the way often have a small bit of water in them--so perhaps the check valve is the problem. The boat is going back to the dealer tomorrow--a 3 hour drive, which I was trying to avoid by diagnosing it myself.
