cleaning our 170DC

WE need to clean a 170DC. nice boat but filthy. It has been under trees with sap and has black marks everywhere from heavy shoes. How can we clean it?

I would use a power washer to knock most of it off then get some Simple Green or other cleaner, spray it down good, then work it with a medium brush, then work it again with the power washer. Some have also used Mr. Clean stick cleaner (not sure of the name of the product) to work on hard spots.

Another thing to try is Soft Scrub. I've used it to get some of the really tough stains off our 170DC, and have been very satisfied with the results. I believe it cintains some bleach, so be sure and rinse thoroughly. A Mister Clean eraser is great for those really tough spots, but wears out too quickly to do the entire boat economically.

Don't forget to check and clean the bilge area while you're at it. A lot of the tree droppings could have accumulated in the bilge area causing the bilge pump to clog and stop working at the worst possible moment. Good luck.
