Hey Guys,
I've insured my 04 170cc with 60hp yamaha with the same company that I have my auto insurance and homeowners policy with and it's only $93.00 per year. I have a $500 deductible, but I was mainly concerned with a total loss. (hurricanes, etc.) It also covers $1400 for equipment, liability, and medical payments. I can't believe some of the prices thats been quoted. I guess each area is different. I did get a couple of discounts due to carrying all of my insurance with them and for having a USCG captains license or safe boating course. Good Luck.

Boat Insurance

I use Old United ( www.oldunited.com ) I've used them for the last 5 years or so but do not have any claim info to share. I pay just under 400 per year which is up from 250 per year because I now live in South Carolina and will get salty. I used progressive for a while but they did not cover Oklahoma when I moved from Florida a few years ago. The prices where about the same but progressive had a 10-15 percent a year discount for no claims (not sure if they still do this). I remember progressive having a retail value replacement coverage which always made me feel comfortable in case there was a total loss and I needed a new boat.

This is for an '03 190Bay with an '03 115 Johnson 4S. The insured value is just under 15k with a deductible of $500. Hope this helps.

Thanks.....

boat insurance

maybe I gave them some wrong info in filling out the questions, all you folks have larger boats and they want more from me. Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned I'm in Joisey.
I will try Wiseley Marine Ins.
Thanks

just got off phone with USAA, I saved over $200! needless to say I switched to them, they wouldn't touch my Boston Whaler because the 1979 motor is 10 hp overpowered, this is a bit anal in my opinion, but my 210 went down from $487 to $267, this is based on inland lakes being primary use, however I am still covered for saltwater use. but if I lived on the coast the cost would have been higher.

US Power Squadrons Insurance Program

You first have to be a US Power Squadrons member but I am paying $433 for my new 03 leftover with Suzuki 140HP and trailer. Best coverage I could find. No experience with claims.

Boat insurance

I currently have 2 boats, both of which are insured by State Farm..One boat is a 1996 Searay 27 ft..which is about $325 a year and my 01 logic 210cc,for 129.00 a year...I get a discount for the coast guard boating course...State farm has been good to me,a boat caught fire next to my searay and caused $21,000 damage to my boat (the other boat was a total loss) state farm never questioned any claim they were actually a joy to work with...however they were not as easy to work with during hurricane isabel...my advise shop for service not just price...without them I couldnt afford to deal with a 21,000 damage claim on my own...talk with other boaters see where they get good service and no problems with claims.

Switched to Travelers from Old United since I had my home owners with Travelers. Down to $210/year from $400/year and got better coverage. I found out I was underinsured in a couple of areas. Thanks for starting this thread, I would never had thought of looking so soon after I changed to Old United.
