Serial Number Problem

I bought a Triumph 210 a few months ago. When I was in the process of buying it I was told the original hull had split so they original owner had gotten a new hull.

I am now the 3rd owner. The S/N on the Bill of Sale is LOPGA257F001 and the S/N on my boat is TRBX1118F203. I have 2 issues I would like to get information about.

1. I am having a hard time registering the boat because of the difference in S/N's on the Bill of Sale and hull. How can I get documentation of the change in hull.

2. I would like to get information in general about how the hull swap was done. I would assume it would be something a dealer would take care of but due to the sloppy job done it looks like it was done by the owner.

I'm in the process of redoing all of the wiring under the console. It was one of the worse rat's nest ever made. When a hull is swapped you must need to swap over the center console, baitwell, gas tank, storage doors, etc. All of these items have mismatched or missing screws.

Any information or direction someone can give me it will be much appreciated.

Chris

Did you buy the boat from a Triumph dealer or directly from an owner? Did you ask for the lifetime hull warranty transfer? If you bought it from a dealer you should ask them for this information. If not you might want to contact Triumph customer service to see what information they have on the serial number. I've not heard of a hull "splitting" and not sure what that means. Is the person you bought it from available for more precise information?

I bought the boat from the second owner who told me a little about the first owners problems with the boat. I did not get a hull warranty from him and have since had a hard time getting in touch with him.

My whole purchase process is a little wierd. I live in Minnesota but have been working in St. Martin FWI for over a year. I bought the boat, through a broker on St. Thomas, from a guy who worked in St. Croix (construction) but lived in Las Vegas. I never met the owner, everything was done by email and fax.

I don't know exactly what happened to the original hull, just what I heard. I know the boat was not put together at a factory because things just aren't right on it. I thought someone here might have some answers but I will try customer service.next.
