Dave, I purchased the "Standard" anchor bracket. That gave me a total of six bolts through the hull in two separate locations (3 in each). It also sits closer to the stern, which I hope means less torque on the boat when using the pole as an anchor.

I also purchased a tan 12 ft pole. It cost a little more than the 10 foot pole, but I have a 12 ft ceiling in part of my garage so I can store it with no problems. I am hoping that the extra length will make polling just a little easier.

Pictures will be posted in the future.

Our new Push Pole Holder / Anchor Bracket is installed.

Their web site is http://www.holdmypole.com/

As mentioned above, we purchased the "Standard" anchor bracket. That gave me a total of six bolts through the hull in two separate locations (3 in each). It also sits closer to the stern, which I hope means less torque on the boat when using the pole as an anchor.

There was already a Cover Plate on the Starboard Stern that had been used by our dealer to install the 18 inch Tite-Lok Track Section. We started by removing the screws and the Rule so we could remove a lot of foam before we completed the installation.

We quickly found that the small 4 inch diameter opening was just not big enough. Because we were already familiar with Beckson pry-out deckplates, we increased the size of our hole so we could mount a 6 inch DP61-W. This just barely gave us enough room so we could remove the foam and install the six washers and lock nuts.

We even used a 90 degree right angle drill attachment and an 18 inch drill bit to help loosen the foam for removal. Even with that, my left hand is rubbed raw in places trying to get that last bit of foam out.

We installed the bracket using six 1/4-20 by 1 1/2 inch Stainless Machine Screws, six 1/4" by 1-1/4" stainless washers, and six Stainless Lock Nuts.

Positioning the bracket so as not to interfere with the Trim Tabs, the M256 transducer with retractable transom mounting kit, or the Bilge Pump outlet was a concern.

Prior to attaching, we placed a lot of Rule all over the part of the bracket that would be touching the boat. We do not want any water entering the boat.

This install went well with the exception of the raw spots on my thumb and various gouges in my skin.

We used Rule again with stainless screws to attach the Beckson deckplate. We used silicone lubricant on the pry-out o-ring to help it seal better. If this pry out does not work, we will replace it with a screw in deckplate. This area of the boat is not perfectly straight.

I also purchased a tan 12 ft pole. It cost a little more than the 10 foot pole, but I have a 12 ft ceiling in part of my garage so I can store it with no problems. I am hoping that the extra length will make polling just a little easier.

Hi Vic
Couple of questions.
First very nice install.
How thick is the transom at the mounting holes? I was just going to use lag screws on my 170 bass since I dont have the luxury of an access hole to get inside the transom. I was hoping that lag screws would work along with a whole lot of Rule.. also I see a Gander mtn name on the unit. Did you buy it from Gander? Are their prices cheaper than the web site?
Thanks
Dave K

Hi Dave.

Our 210 Transom was 3/8" thick at the install location. We just felt that the way we installed the bracket would make it as strong as possible. The kit did come with stainless lag screws, but we did not use them.

I purchased from the web site. Did not know about Gander till I received the bracket.
