New Buff's

I swear by these puppies, and one of the few things that I "will" turn the boat back around and go back for, if I forget and leave them in the truck

http://www.buffwear.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/1_103

http://www.buffwear.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/1_32

Now I just ordered one of the visor buffs (that should be the bomb and more feedback on that one later) and a new Snook neck one since it is one of the high UV models

Matter of fact, I have some of those (so called) tough guys (yea, right) that laughed that I had them on... These were the same dudes that were "passed out" on my rear casting deck around 1430 from getting sun cooked, this while ole Dave here was still casting away for hours longer and still getting fish

Now their excuse too me later on was... "Well Dave, you are use to being on the water" no baby duck, Semper Paratus... I prepare for the environment

Right on Puter. I always were long sleeve Columbia 30+ shirts now that they are paper thin/light and cool even when it's real hot out. A visor and sunglasses along with 30+ waterproof sunscreen on exposed body parts.

Remember, suncreen can stop sweating in the areas where it is applied and can cause sun stroke/overheating if applied continuously over the entire body (just ask my wife whom ended up in the ER). So use on "exposed" skin only so your body can still temp regulate and keep you cooler.

My father 71, has had to stay out of the sun for 2 years now (only gets to night fish now) since he is undergoing topical chemo which burns off the skin.....every day! If he gets into the sun, the heat causes extreme burning of the skin.....he will probably have to continue rotating areas of his body for treatment for the rest of his life.

I would also order some fingerless sun gloves too.

You will pay if you play.....unprotected from the sun, that is!

Thumbs up

Got both of my new Buff toys last week and "field tested" them over the weekend...

I was very pleased with how the visor buff worked and how much less sweat I had running down into my face when compared to the normal white cotton World Wide Sportsman ball cap that I usually wear. The smaller visor when compared to a longer bill of a ball cap did not seem to make any difference and did not allow any more light to come into the top of my sunglasses than usual Also due to the sung fit of the visor Buff, I did not have to take it off when running on a plane unlike I have to do with a ball cap

The new Snook neck Buff "appears" larger and as such, when used with my normal Columbia PFG button shirt, did not allow the back of my neck to get burned this time even though Beth and I were out for many hours thumping Redfish Saturday. More like she was thumping Redfish while I played guide standing up on the leaning post pointing to her where to cast

It was a good trip though and the Reds were crashing baits like Pit Bulls going after house cats and once again, the Power Pole in holding the boat in place and the Rootbeer DOA terror eyes were the (her) weapons of choice again / still

So I give a solid 2 thumbs up to both of the new Buff products that give excellent Thermonuclear protection

Speaking about gloves, I have had several pair and just picked up these last weekend on my latest trip to Mecca (Bass Pro Shop) and love how they are so lightweight

Columbia Sportswear: Accessories > Men's > Gloves & Mittens > PFGâ„¢ Fingerless Glove

How does one wear the buff? Like a tube top? Because I haven't worn one of those since the 70's.
