Hook Covers

As you know with mine and most 190 rod holders being so low, they are not safe and I have been gigged / impaled more than once when walking past one my pre-rigged bait casters on a Rapala treble hook

So even after having dear old Mom make me some lure wraps (they kept getting hung up when taking them off) I did some research and I found another low budget product today called "Safety Caps" about halfway down on this page OWNER HOOKS - Accessories
that I just put on my loose forward hooks tonight, that I think is the final fix for that problem

I got the med size ones and they "snap" into place on the hook so you know they are secure. So you may want to try a set yourself to help keep the kids and dogs (much less youself) out of the hooks also

190 Bay rod holders - lure wraps

I, too, became concerned about how many of my passengers were getting hooks stuck in them from the rodholders in the 190 Bay, so I went out and boat these velcro lure wraps from Bass Pro Shops:

So far - since we have been using these - there have been no incidents.

Hook cover version 1.5

I got nabbed by one of the two rear treble hooks in the leg when walking by the other day that was still exposed

So I got smart (should patten the idea) and cut off one of the three hooks covers with scissors... Now I have covers also for the two "free" rear trebel hook for when the lure is in the rod mounted hook holder When I get a chance, I will post a picture on the modification
