Marine Audio

Has anyone here installed their own audio products in a Triumph? I am another proud 190 Bay owner who needs some tunes on the water. Any tips and or tricks anyone knows? I was looking at the Dual MXDM70 and the Jensen MS6501 speakers. If anyone has any experience with these or any others please let me know.

Thanks and Tight Lines.

My only suggestion is to get a headunit that has satellite radio capability. Love my XM.

Can't beat PolyPlanar waterproof speakers and stereo. You can buy a wireless FM transmitter or iPod jack to go into the back. I can use my xm Roadie but since I have xm weather, probably easier to install thru Garmin. Remember, a center console is going to get wet and your electronics really needs to be waterproof and sealed where possible.

I bought a refurbished Clarion XMD3 on ebay for less than $200 and later added a SIRIUS ceNET receiver (again refurbished which I picked up for about $40-50) and antenna. It has not given me any trouble yet and it's been in for over a year and get's a lot of use. It replaced a jensen that I did not like. I would recommend the XMD3. I bought some generic marine speakers, can't remember the brand, they started out as white and matched the boat well, now they are burned orange and I will be changing them soon as they have become an eye sore.
