Early Virginia Bowhunt Success

Just a quick post to brag about my success in the early season bowhunt. The statewide either sex bow season started Saturday but I was unable to go due to other commitments. Monday, found me on the stand at 6:30 a.m. This nice little 5 pointer came by at 20 yards at 7:20 a.m. After a little work tracking (he traveled about 100 yards but ended up not 40 yards from the stand but I never knew he was there) and a grueling exodus from the hunting area, he is now resting in a cooler full of ice in my garage.

Anyway, here's a pic...

Black Powder season opened on Saturday in Washington. My son got a 3-point on Sunday morning at about 50 yds. The deer dropped where he was shot and my son only had a 1/8 mile haulout....downhill. Approximate weight gutted...120#.
