Opening Day of Duck Season

Hi All who hunt;
Okay There was 4 of us and 2 ponds to hunt, Myself and Mike took the LARGE pond, and other friends Josh and Matt took the small pond. I guess we set up pretty good, after all we have hunted this pong for 10 + years, and know how the birds work MOST of the time. There have been times that we have done very poorly here, BUT this was not the day !!
Sunrise was upon us and 5 Blue Bill flew in right on top of the Deeks.....but it was not time to shoot...we watched them slowly swim away..... Then all was quite as for flights coming in, BUT we knew there were birds on the pond, as you could hear them calling each other, then finally Some rings neck came in, landing gear down and committed. BOOM boom boom, as we dropped 3 of the 5..................Then all heck took place, there must of been 100+ birds get up and take flight..Holly cow what a sight, it has been a long time since we have seen so many birds here, on opening day. To end this long story, we were done by 8:30 AM.....we missed a few great shots, and laughed at each other, but that is what friends do. P.S In the last picture, I am the fat one on the right.

Yeehaw

Good Show! If I ate wild duck I think I'd be hungry. Great story, would have liked to seen it.
