Transom drain

I'm new to the website, but I've had my Logic for 5 years and I also did many mods, but after going thru this site I now have more work to do.

I have an 01' Logic 210 I want to install the transom drain, I saw the instructions on this site and now I canseem to find them. I need the size of the plug and the measurements

I also want to know if anyone has put a bimini top on a 210.

Oh, and one more. Who makes the brcket for the 94 Qt cooler on the new 215 Chaos. I saw it at a boat show but noone knew, not even the tech rep from Triumph.

Angry Engine well covers

I took off the covers in the transom well, they came off pretty easy and for good reason, many of the screws were loose, the starboard was cracked around some of the screws, and there was very little rule under or around either plate. The water is up to the top of the compartment, and there is ice, a very large block of it, I drilled the hole for the transom drain and the water has begun to come out, so far about 1.5 gallons and I'm sure there is a lot more to come because the block of ice is yet to thaw.

Now I'm alittle concerned about meldew inside the hull area, is there anything I should put in there while I have it apart?

I find it hard to believe that Genmar did not warn Logic owners about this problem. I could be trailering and boating with an additional 100 Lbs or more and never would have known if I didn't read about it in the Forum, Thanks Guys.

Ordered replacement rod holder caps from Boatfix.com, the rod holders also had some water in them.

the transom covers are a separate area from the water draining out of your transom drain. you need to get the water out of the two separate areas where the covers are yourself, scooping it out is the easiest way. and yes the water in there is a bit nasty usually!

i forgot to advise you in the pm that in 01 triumph was using a style of rod holder that had an open bottom. they put tape over the hole and i can assure you that 5 years later ,that tape has failed one 1 or more holders allowing water to enter that "inner hull oh my" !!
you need to either plug the holes or put drain lines on them. unless you have a diff. style of cover than mine , you gonna have to remove the holder to replace the covers

Yes the compartments were isolated from the transom and nasty, mildew, sand from clams, and nasty smelling stagnant water. I removed the foam which now weighs a ton, wet vac'd out the wells and cleaned. I plan on making my own floats from high density spray foam. I cut new cover plates from plastic cutting board material, Wal-Mart. and plan on sealing them really well.

So far well over 2 gallons from the transom drain and still dripping.

The rod holders had plastic caps on the bottom but one was leaking, I've resealed them both.

Next job is to do the mod to the forward mega hold drain, I plan on running a tube from the compartment all the way to the bilge. I hope I don't have to remove to many hatches to snake the tube thru.

il-logic-al did a modification for the mega hatch drain that sounded fairly simple with some PVC tubing, I was going to look into this myself this spring.

on another note, where would the drain lines run from the rod holders?

I looked into the mega hold drain and it does not look easy trying too tread a piece of PVC into that hole, in fact the hole narrows and splits about six inches from the end. I tested mine with a few gallons of water and it all came out through the bilge drain so I feel pretty good about that.

The rod holders are not designed to be drained, in order to do that you would have to drill a hole and somehow snake a tube down through the interior foam to the bige area our simply out onto the deck, I'm not up for that job yet.

i put the pvc tube in the mega drain because when i put a water hose in the megga all the water was running out the foam drain ,indicating that my megga drain tube was not molded correctly. if watter is running out the bilge then you are o.k.
the rod holder drain tubes i installed on the bottom of the holders drain onto the deck by exiting where the horizional rod holders holes are. there are pics in 210 mod section or my gallery showing this
