Side Scuppers for 2001 Logic 18'6" Center Console

I have purchase 2001 Logic 18'6" center console recently. The scuppers located on the side of the boat allow water to come into the boat instead of letting it out. It appears to be a terrible design. Does anyone know of a retro fit scupper that will work better. Now I have to use a plug on the inside of the cockpit. This is very bothersome and potenially dangerous. Any help on this matter would be appreciated. Thanks

Bamabill ,triumph later changed the design to flow out the back. To change you would have to drill , use a hole saw, four holes and retrofit with couplings. There are a few posts
where some one used one way check valves that seemed to work. What i did that helped
a lot but did not completely stop intrusion was simply rotate scupper flaps 1/4 turn past straight up. That allowed water pressure to keep flaps shut but still allowed water to drain.

Bamabill, I have the same boat with a Suzuki 115 four stroke. I get water in all the time because the motor is heavier that a 2 stroke.
Unless someone comes up with a real good idea, I've given up on trying to keep the water out. My flaps are bent so they never seal right.
Good luck in finding a solution.

I was the one that came up w/ the idea of using check-valves in the scuppers of my 18.6 CC.
I installed them 3 years ago and they still work fairly well.

I would'nt settle for the easiest solution of just pluging the scuppers.
I wanted to hold the water out of the boat, but also allow the scuppers to drain the deck when the boat was on plane.

This solution, check-valves, is not 100%. When the boat is dead in the water, a small trickle of water may get past the valve, but nowhere as bad as the factory scupper flaps.
I used to stand in an 1"-2" of water!

I always remove the rubber inserts before I wash down the boat, at the end a fishing day.
This allows the soap / water to drain freely out of the scupper tubes and also allows rain water to drain during storage.

Before the boat is dropped in the water, I wet the rubber inserts w/ saliva or water to insure good seal when the ocean pushes against it. Then I insert the rubber valve into the scupper tube and seal it w/ the end cap.

I check my Photo Gallery and my pics are still there from the orginal forum.
Let me know what ya think.

Consider removing the flaps and install the floating ball in cage style. That's the only thing I have used that was an automatic improvement. The ball makes some noise when running fast but once you decide it's not your motor about to blow up, you can tune it out! haha

I have the same 2001 logic 18'6" model as you and my scuppers are also worthless.

Does anybody who is providing some suggestions have links to sites selling replacement scuppers which might work well? The ball in cage (or whatever) I've seen for sale in shops but it didn't look at a glance like it would fit my boat.

Foam rubber practice golf balls seems to be the cheap and easy solution. If you want to get real fancy, put a nylon cord through them with a bar for a quick pull out.
