SAD and neglected...and in England (UK)

Of course I am talking about a side consol 150 and not myself! I guess the question I have to ask of the free minds of this site, is:
"The boat I have found has been in the open un-covered for about one year and, it will have had snow frost and a long English summer and is now covered in small black spots, How do I get rid of these?".

Boats in England change hands for high prices but this one is priced to sell but I do not want to but something that will look like a spotty teenager for my time with it.

Thanks for reading my post and I look forward to your replies.

One last thing I did feel something for her and felt we could have a good relationship!

Thumbs up

Hi Lucius. You may be our first member from across the Atlantic! Those spots will come off very easily with a pressure washer. There are several threads on here too about different types of cleaners to use on Roplene such as this thread:

Can't get these tiny black spots off my boat

Use the search tool in the left hand column on the main page to enter "black spot" or "cleaner" to see all the threads you come up with. Have a great Thanksgiving holiday over there! Glad you've joined us.

Thanks NCangler nothing like being a first. We do have a lot of your countrymen and women at USAF bases at Mildenhall and Lakenheath which are about a 45 minute drive away and frequent vistors to our local city of Norwich.

I have uploaded a couple of pics of the boat I am considering buying:

The blue you can see is an anti foul that I pressume will blow off with a pressure washer.
There are numerous small nicks and gouges with one deep one. It is 30mm deep and I believe repairable using the methods descibed elsewhere on these forum. The boat is about an hours drive away so I have not popped back with a camera to get any other shots. It is in a very sad state. I am quite handy so I am confident I can bring her back. She is I believe a 1999 hull with a similar aged Honda 50 four stroke trim etc. No electrics and was used as a ferry between a racing boat and the live aboard. The markings close to the transome are from the all round fenders, ahich have rubbed and stained.

One question I do have is that she is currently standing on a launching trolley so I will have to purchase a proper trailer. The type I have looked at is a swing roller beam. I appreciate that names vary across the Atlantic, I have tried to find an appropriate photo with no success. No bunks just large rollers that self adjust as the boat is drawn on or slipped off. Do any of you have any experience of these. I have done quite a bit of reading on the site and almost all, if not all are bunk trailers.

Thanks for your help, delay in purchase is the imminent arrival of my wife's new car............yawn. Bit cold and blowy at the moment so not much fishing.

Chris, please use the "Search" tab at the top of the page and read all you can about trailers. A bunk trailer is a requirement for these plastic boats, so please be carefull. The bunks support the weight and keep the boat in its correct shape.
