Question Boat buying value information sources?

Hi,
I can't seem to find info, that means anything, about true boat values. There's a couple of "bluebook" type of sites but not much use. Prices vary widely. I'm currently looking at a '2000 Logic 21', 130 hp. He wants $10500. It's clean looks good but I have no idea what it's worth. I'm in Ca. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Tallcoolone 1...I own a 2001 Logic 210 with 150 hp johnson,in Virginia the usually go for $15,000 boat ,motor and trailor if they are in any shape at all. Center consoles are big here for fishing the chesapeake bay and other tidal waters..You can try the boat trader and from there it will get you to the NADA book to get your price...you can also search the market in your area and get a good idea what they are selling for...$10500 sounds like a decent price

Boat Values

T,
In my opinion, NADA is not that good in determining value of boat, they just give general ball park $$$ range. There are so many variables that have to be taken into account to determine fair value. Most dealers use BucValue guide to determine trade-in and retail ranging...I have included the site. You can run a free search without having to subscribe. The other method is to search all the big web sites (yachtworld, boattraderonline...) and get a feel for what is available, and average out the price range. Last but not least, there are millions of boats for sale, so it is always a buyers market...don't rush into anything until you do your homework. Paying a few bucks for a marine surveyor is also recommended. Good luck finding your boat...

thanks!

Thank you all for the comments. I really do value the your experience.
The guy sold the boat for $9000 last night. I guess I missed another good one. Bummer too........that was probably the only boat for sale in the world.

tallacoone,
don't worry there are plenty of boats for sale, and with fuel prices there will be plenty more coming on the market. Personally I'd want something more than a 130 hp for the 210. I think 150 hp is ideal for these boats, mine has a 200 Yamaha HPDI which is great but probably overkill. Many guys run them with 140 hps and seem happy but some have a bit of a problem getting her up on plane quickly.
$9000 was probably a decent price, but it all depends on the motor condition. the boats are pretty tough!
