Cavitation - 186 Logic Cool Bay
I just changed the engine on my 2001 Cool Bay to a 115 Johnson. I'm using the factory recommended aluminum prop. With two people aboard behind the center console I cavitate before going on plane. If I send the passenger forward, I can go on plane without cavitation. I'd really like to run the boat myself, but the weight distribution may be a problem. When I had the motor installed the service manage filled the forward wells with water for ballast. Any suggestions? Prop change? Trim Tabs? I don't want to spend a fortune but I do want to be able to enjoy the boat!

Water (new one on me) or weight forward is like putting a band-aid on a bullet hole and is no fix...
What is the RPM reading at WOT this prop? What is the engine trim angle when it is doing such? What hole is that engine mounted in on the stern? Let us know and we can then go to step "B" in the troubleshooting tree
