00 210 pulling the motor-

After tearing just about everything on our 00 210 apart at least once in the last year and a half, some for knowledge, some to tweek, and some to repair. Yet I am still taking on about 5-10 gallons everytime she gets wet, the only thing that Is below the waterline that I havent redone is pull the outboard and check the mounting bolt holes. Carl and Dic at Merritt think it has to be the lower 2 outboard bolts, are not sealed, and water is entering there.
Has anyone had experience in the matter, I have and auto crane, and am not worried about pulling it, but would like to know what to look for if anyone has been down this road
Thanks in advance
Fella

I currently have my 2001 V210 CC dismantled all of the way " including pulling and removing the 85 gallon fuel tank".

I also have some pics of a transom crack and a broke off top transom plate bolt on the the original transom saver and have since built a new bigger and better one.

Take a look at my pics and we'll discuss later.

What I found after hoisting the outboard is that the lower 2 mounting holes had a hard plastic plug which is used to keep the bolts from crushing the roplene, the only problem is they were 3/4 of an inch smaller than the transom depth. We padded the plastic plugs with stainless washers, and ruled the **** out of the hole thing, and put it back together. We snugged the bots during install, but did not torque them down until the rule was dry.
I just got back from 5 days of fishing on Cape Cod, and the only time I heard the pump come on was when the scuppers clogged up with puked up sand eels.
It was worth all the time to finally have it right, and not have to think about whats causing the water.
Thanks
Fella

Very interesting. Sure glad you found that. That must be a huge relief. You have a 2000 Logic 210, correct?

It is a 2000 210, and in unbelievable shape, it took a little tweaking, but I love the boat and dont mind the time figuring it out.

puked up sand eels equates to striped bass---so how many did you catch to plug up the deck drains?????????!!!!!!!!

Thanks Fella,
Perhaps that is where my problem lies also. Just as long as there is not a crack somewhere. I don't have the skills to remove the motor.
