Question Water in the inner Hull

Hi,
I'm getting water in the inner hull of my 1997 15' logic hull. This has been happening for 2+ years now. I couldn't find where it was coming from, so I installed a auto bildge pump. If the hole or crack is not visible on the trailer what can I do to find it? I was thinking of taking the boat off the trailer tipping it on its side and looking that way?

Please I need help.
Thanks

cogen do you mean you have water in your bilge? the inner hull is where the foam is at. does your boat seem to weigh more when you take it out of the water. you may just have scupper problems and not a leak. the back scupper flaps on you transom might be bad letting water in.

I checked with the factory for you and this was their initial response:
Quote:
A bilge pump would only pump out water from the bilge area not the inner hull. I would start with putting some water in the bilge when the boat is on the trailer and see if you see any water leaking out from under the boat. My first guess would be the bilge plugs.

Question inner hull

Gentlemen, If you take out the center plug on the transom and look inside, there is no foam in the inner hull except in the very front of the boat. When the water comes out of the boat it is crystal clear like ocean water, no dirt or color. I glued the bildge pump inside the inner hull, not to drill outside of the hull. Once I learn how to compress photo's I will post some. This problem has plagued me for sometime now? I love fishing in the boat and have never felt like I was going to sink.

Again, please help me?

water in the inner hull

This picture is of the area where I put a 6'' access (screw type) to the auto bildge. It was raining today so this is the only pic I have right now. This is all new to me.
Thanks again NCangler

Center stringer

Cogen,Thanks for the photo, that's the center stringer which should be completely foam filled and sealed from day 1 at the factory.Did you buy this boat used?An easy way to find the source would be to disable the bilge and fill the stringer w/water.With the boat on the trailer climb underneath and inspect the centerline of the hull.Be sure the boat is level. You should be able to see the leak,or at least an area that's wet(dry towels will help).Once found, report back with the type of damage,i.e.puncture,gouge,crack,etc.Also,take a look at your front fish boxes, make sure they have not been modified to drain into the stringer or bilge. The boxes should drain directly down thru the hull and are sealed w/drain plugs. The good news is regardless of the reason for the leak,it can be relatively easy to repair once found.

Hi Mike,
In the past when I first started to see water in the hull, I leveled out the hull and filled it with alot of water. I left in in the driveway for a couple of hours. Nothing revealed itself?
This past year I thought I would try it again. This time I lowered the front of the trailer so I could fit more water than the last time, I ran the hose for a very long time. I thought the trailer was going to fail. Again I leveled out the trailer and waited, nothing! That's when the auto bildge went in.
The first time I noticed the water in the hull I decieded to replace the old plastic plugs with the new stainless type, using a ton of elastomeric.

Splashing?

Cogen, sounds frustrating!I took a good look at your boat in the classifieds, the hull looked great in the pics,a leak should be obvious. That leaves your plugs and...don't laugh, could the water be splashing in and collecting in the bilge? My 150 has no leaks, but occasionally my bilge pump will come on to pump water that has splashed in.It's supprising how fast it can build up.Also,I noticed theres no splash well at the transom of your model boat...just a thought.

Mike, one day we were catching false albacore and bluefish almost every cast, blood in the bildge. When we took the boat out of the water the two bildge plugs had red water came out and clear water came out of the center plug. The water has to be coming from under the water line, maybe where the bunks are?
