Exclamation ops moved here but covered in in bilge hose thread already

i moved this from the 210 modifications forum ,but couldnt change the title
this has been covered in the thread i already posted regarding bilge hose rubbing on s.s. strap.
i put it here since it pertains to logic boats with 85 gal fuel tanks
robert

those owners with a model that has the 85 gallon fuel tank should be aware of another fix that needs to be made if you lift up the bilge pump from the strainer and see the rule has been rubbed by the bilge pump hose enough to expose the stainless steel strap that runs from the transom down the centerline of the boat under the hose .
i had to replace the bilge pump due to the float switch being stuck in the run position and wouldn't shut off.when i raised it out of the blue strainer that is screwed to the hull, i could see where the bilge pump hose had rubbed off all the rule that seals the s.s. strap . according to dick at MM this has been a primary entry point for water to get into the inner hull foam if the strap is not kept totally encapusulated in rule and has been an ongoing problem.

the fix is to remove the blue strainer and add a 3/4" or there abouts block of whatever you may have on top of where the strainer was to raise the hose up off the ss strap. i had some extra floor box lids i had cut up from a previous project and that thickness was perfect for my application. i marked the 4 holes from the strainer onto the block, drilled out the 4 holes on the block and then screwed the strainer with the block under it back in the orig. holes. you may or may not need longer longer screws. mine had 2 screws that were so long they should have gone thru the bottom of the boat but the block short'n them up a bit!!
if you lift the pump and the rule is as applied from factory ,count your lucky stars you don't have to fix it. my bet is more will than will not.
Robert

bty if you have 70 gallon tank you got no worries . the hose is run so as to not be anywhere near the strap. another reason i want a 70 gal. tank

I have a 2000 Logic 210cc and for some reason, which I can't remember why, thought I had a 70 gallon tank. Is there any way to tell for sure?

85 gal tanks extend all the way back beyond the livewell to a couple inches in front of the round access in the floor. the bilge pump hose goes straight across the the floor directly under the round hatch. lift the pump up from the base and see if there is any stainless steel shining under where the hose was right in the middle of the hole

if it's a 2000 model you've got an 85 gallon tank, unless someone modified it.

Question 01 210 logic modifications

Lots of knowledge on this site, the info I gain from this site helped in my decision to purchase a 01 210cc logic..I was wondering if anyone has put together a list (based on local knowledge of course) of the top 10 mods that should be done to the boat...whether it be the splash well plates or drain plug issues or whatever..I purchased the boat knowing that there are certain things should be changed...a list would be very helpful based on importance and safety and how to eliminate potential problems. none of the problems seem to expensive or to complicated to address..but honestly I dont know where to start....Im looking forward to many years of trouble free boating with this logic..

Let's make a list of current mod's and those wanted and i'll create a poll for needed mods. Then we'll start working on detailed articles with photos for each mod to be added to the articles section. What do you think?

I'd say first and foremost, install drain plugs in fish boxes, then in any order, transom drain, splashwell fix(cleanout and access covers if you wish), drain for rear port storage box into bilge area, drain next to baitwell pump for bilge area(if earlier model), modification to drain from mega storage(see Il Logic Al's thread as of last week), mega storage hatch lid modification. these are the ones that have crossed my mind just now. probably think of more. I haven't done all of them yet myself....

Mods for 210

I would like to mount a "kicker motor" bracket.
Bait well fixes to keep from overflowing, or draining when on plane.
Secure early model gas tanks to prevent movement.
Details on installation of transom foam plug.
Tackle box installation.
and I concure with above listed fixes.
