Mine is a 2002 210 and boy did it need it!!! It's still dripping slowly after 2 weeks. I also raised the front of the trailer about 4' off the ground. It's really easy to do, the measurements I used were provided by Dick Merrit.

now it is time to try and figure out where the water was coming from.
i found out the mega drain tube was no good when i ran water in the mega and more of it was coming out the hull drain than the bilge drain.
after i repaired the mega tube and filled the bilge with water , i found that water was leaking into the inner hull from rule being worn away from the s.s. strapping by the bilge pump hose.
these drains are only as good (as in no water ever leaking from them) as we can find
all the sources for water intrusion into the hull
if i can be any further help on this quest ,just give a shout
Robert

water source

Yep I pulled the rear deck today and lifted the bilge pump and hose up. Guess what? I could see the SS keel. Used a hair dryer to soften the rule and cleaned out as much as I could. Used a hole tube of rule to reseal. I then cut a small piece of nylon cutting board to raise the pump. I'm next going to take a small piece of 2" Plastic conduit or plastic gas pipe and split it to set over that area and place the pump hose on top of that. That oughta do her.

HEY SIX
WHEN YOU PULLED THE DECK DID YOU REMEMBER IF THE GAS TANK EXTENDED BEYOND LIVE WELL AS THE 85 GALLON TANKS IN MY '01 OR WAS IT A 70 GALLON SMALL ONE?? SOUNDS LIKE IT IS AN 85 IF YOU HAD TO RAISE THE PUMP TO CLEAR THE SS STRAP. WILL WAIT FOR YOUR RESPONSE BEFORE GOING FURTHER WITH SUGGESTIONS OF THING TO LOOK FOR FOR ALL YOUR WATER INTRUSION

Hey Mike ,
Thought I'd Check In On You To See If You Have Done The Box Drains Yey. I Replaced The Sea Dog Plastic Drains With The 2" Round Brass Plug Style On The 2 Floor Boxes On Each Side Of The Livewell. The Plastic Ones Were Both Leaking Water Into The Box Due To Their Small Size And The Rule Had Failed On 1 Edge. If You Havent Put The Plastics In Yet, I Would Definately Spring For The More Expensive But Better Brass Drain.

85 tank

It is the larger tank and i'm glad as I often use this boat for running albacore off northern Calif.[long days and many miles]. I kinda think this was my main source of water. We'll see. I've done a water test as suggested through the megga hatch [which I wish the boat didn't have] and it all appeared to drain to the bilge. Thanks for the help.

Check For These As Well

S.S.
IF YOU HAVENT PUT THE LID BACK ON YET ,YOU DEFINATELY WANT TO MOVE THE S.S. SUPPORT BAR NEXT TO THE GAS FITTING THERE ON TOP OF THE TANK . THIS WILL KEEP IT FROM BREAKING OFF WHEN THE STARBOARD GETS HOT AND STARTS TO SAG.
MORE LATER AT WORK NOW

Robert,

No I have not done the plugs yet. A renter moved out of a house, and I have been busy with "delayed" maintenance on it. Maybe early next week.

I will see if I can get the brass drains with short tube... I got the plastic ones so I could trim them off even with the bottom of the boat, as i think they will be longer than the bottom is thick. If they only leak about 1 gal per hour I would be a happy camper on this item. I use the ones beside the rear deck as fish bleeding tanks, so some water is good... Put a gal milk carton chunk of ice in it to chill the water while they (black fin tuna) bleed before putting in the ice chest.

Mike

Drain residue

I have what looks like rusty residue from the drain I installed. I went with the specs and hit nothing. What can it be? Any one else experience this?

I installed my drain last spring and I also have the same rusty crap. When I removed the old rule where the bilge pump hose crosses I could see the stainless keel. It was like 2 pieces bolted together and i'm thinking maybe they didn't use the best of bolts and / or nuts. Kind of worrysome so I just try not to think about it too much. The worst thing I can think of is they used a crappy grade of stainless for the keel there's really nothing else in there that should rust. Anyway keep your bow jacked up high [ mines at about 3 and a half feet] and sooner or later it will dry out. FISH EVERY CHANCE YOU GET!!!!
