150 Yamaha is what my was set up with. I was considering the 200 e-tec but the dealer didn't have them at the time (he does now but is still a Yami fan).
I like the 150 4 stroke. It's efficient and quiet. I sometimes wish I had more power. (off shore, 4 guys, gear, ice and sea state seem to hold the 4 stroke back. In shore, calm seas and lighter loads "It's sweet")

In Yamaha's,what is a "carbed" 4 stroke? An older model 4 stroke? Do they still make these?

I do not know if they do or not, maybe on some the smaller HP engines (like kickers) but when Logic / Triumph was first started, you could still get a carb engine of the horsepower range to push these boats and that is why they I put them on the list. I would say look at the Yamaha web page too see if they still do

As far as how long will last, my Father has one on his boat (150 V6) that sucks fuel like a B52 above 4000 RPM, but has about 1300 hours on it. Good fuel and synthetic 2 stroke oil can make any engine live longer, even one of those older carb models
