Honda vs. Yamaha

It's time to repower my 2000 210. It now has a Merc Optimax 150. It's been a decent engine but the long hours of low speed trolling for Salmon off the West Coast makes a 4 stroker the way to go. I've checked the weights and there's no problem with either a Honda or Yamaha. I'd like to hear some experences with them.

I have had both (love my Honda though) and I would let the warranty and local dealer support decide which one to mount up for they are both excellent engines.

Your Merc though is not that old and that is not cheap upgrade for any hull so I have wonder why the change? You could buy a LOT of synthetic oil, high octane fuel, BMS cavatation plate and invest in several new props and still have a lot of money over re-powering you know
