Bought mine on eBay

Hi folks.
I've been lurking on this forum for about a week. I found an 03 Triump 210cc on ebay for 16k. I've been looking for a 19-22' cc boat since I came back from TX in Feb. They are non-existant in Montana. I looked at countless boats both new and used between Rockport and Port Isabel Tx. I became convinced that the dealers did not really want to sell used boats because the prices were extremely high for what appered to me to be well-worn glass boats. Almost every boat I found both on the internet and at dealers were well above the NADA high retail price. I had never heard of Ropelene technology before and the concept intrigued me. All the research I did on this boat convinced me that the only way I could go wrong was by passing up
this opportunity. I could not find one owner of a Triumph boat that was unhappy with his/her boat. Yesterday, I pulled the trigger and agreed to buy this triumph sight unseen. (other than photo's) I'm excited and a bit nervous. I won't even be able to see the boat until fall when I have it shipped to TX. I live in MT and the boat is in Florida. How crazy is that!?

I hope it was a good purchase for you. As mentioned in another thread be sure to get the lifetime hull warranty from the seller transferred to you within 2 weeks. It provides good piece of mind. Hey maybe the seller would hook a hose up to the motor, fire it up and shoot a little video of it running and some shots around the boat to send you.

Thanks,
That's a real good idea. I've already sent the deposit but the balance isn't due for a week. Seeing the motor running would give me some peace of mind for sure. Does anybody know if an extended warranty can be purchased from Yamaha. If so, are they worth the cost?

Bought Mine On Ebay

I've got to say, you're pretty brave to purchase any $16,000 item on E-bay,sight unseen except for pictures. If it were me, I'd at least fly down there to see and test drive it, it could save you a lot of grief, trouble, and money. But good luck, I hope all works out well for you.

I hope it was bravery and not stupidity!! The way I figured it (and justified to myself and wife)is that the boat looked really really good(like new) in the pictures. The seller is a dealer who has been doing business on ebay since 99 with a 97% favorable feedback. I could not find anybody who owns a Triumph that didn't like it.Even if the motor had problems and needed a new powerhead or something, at a purchase price of 16k I think will still be ahead of the game.

E-Bay

Oh, ok, I didn't see on your post that it was a dealer, I thought it was a private party, it looks like a better deal, already!

What a generoous offer, thank you so much!! It's in Ft Lauderdale. They are going to store it for me until I have it shipped to TX. I don't really know where it's at in Ft Lauderdale yet, but I should have that info soon. Is that anywhere close to you?

Thanks for the kind words. Montanans are generally very nice people(I try ). If you represent Florida people, I'd say you rate right up there with Montanans. I do appreciate your offer to look at the boat for me. I understand that it's too far away. I've been in constant contact with the seller and I feel pretty confidedent that I've made the right decision. Again, thanks for the offer to look at the boat for me.
