2004 170 side console purchase inquiry
I am in the process of buying a 2004 170 side console (once I get the title to my current boat) and wanted to get your opinions.
The boat was apparently garage kept by the original owner. It is powered by a '04 Yamaha 70 2 stroke oil injection engine (stainless prop) with power tilt and trim. Also has a saltwater bow mounted trolling motor, dual pedestal seats, fishfinder, bimini top, and '04 EZ loader trailer with spare. The price is $11,490. Please give me your honest opinions. Thanks. I just bought a brand new 170CC and while in the process of looking I noticed that many dealers were selling last years left overs 2006 from prices ranging from $9,000 - $13,500. Your seller probably has a great boat but I would work the price down and contact your local dealers and get prices on any left overs. This info can be a God send when negotiating a price down. It gives you the leverage and also helps the seller to know what he is up against. If he is unwilling to move his price down I would shop around.
As for these boats they are worth their money in gold and are amazing toys. Its probably worth near his asking price but the truth is there are new for near equal price and some even less. For me personally $10,000 or less and the deal is done. Good Luck |

Thanks mondo,
You're probably right. I did ask if they could come down on the price and the salesman said no(I know they have had the boat since at least Aug. of '06). The thing that I really like about the boat is that it is a side console. I'm in SE PA and I don't think there are any Triumph dealers that are very close. |
