Welcome to the site.
After the peeling and scrapping, you might try some lacquer thinner to finish it off. Using the "Search" feature, that is what others stated they have used. Some said Goo-B-Gone also helped remove the adhesive.

Newbie removing decals
Also have 2002 purchased new that year. Removed most decals when I got the boat home. Left the waterline stripe on until it got beat up from normal use. All I have now is the one on the side of the console.
A hair dryer may help if you have any problem just pulling the decals off. I cleaned up the adhesive residue with Goof-Off and later Dawn dish detergent with a worn out green pad. (3M green scrubbing pad) I have found that Dawn will clean most anything off the boat. I will use chlorine bleach one or two times a year to make the deck bright and knock out any stubborn stains that may have been missed from a normal trip wash down. |
