Jacksonville or Bust

Well fella’s it looks like the Florida deal is finally here for me and my family. We will be rolling out of north central Oklahoma next Saturday morning. Three trucks, a camper and two boats, should be interesting. Got landing spots (KOA’s) in Shreveport LA then in Milton FL. Final stop is at Pacetti’s RV Park in St. Augustine. We are campers until the better half locates a house. With fuel prices going up I am looking to spend about $700 to get all that down there.
The new job begins on July 1 and then I get 3 day’s off to recuperate. We’ve got tickets for the Suns game on the 3rd and an invite to a beach condo on the 4th. I’m still at work (kind-of) here this week and we are busy finishing up stuff. Our house sold in less than 2-weeks and we sold our lake lot in less than 12 hours (should have asked for more$$$$!).
Anyway, I had to buy a boat cover for the 190 and found a pretty good deal on one from Overtons. It fits real well but I might have to get a quick release for my trolling motor. I will have other mods I’ll have to make when I get down there including installing a VHF radio. Oh I almost forgot, the 190 got named this week and we will call her WOOTAH.

Well JR,
Let me be the first to say "Welcome to Ole Spanish Florida" the "Fishing Capital of the World" I think you will find the weather a little more to your liking for fishing as long as we do not have another 4 hurricane summer

Here is some links that may come in handy to help get you up to speed buddy

And if you are going to be doing any serious "Flats Work" you have just GOT to get yourself one of these

Tight Lines!

Thanks a lot Dave. I will have a lot to learn. If I can pick the brains of you guy’s once in a while I’m sure I will soon be up and running like a pro. My 17 year old son and I need to get some serious fishing/boat time in before he fly’s the coop.
This will be my last post for a while. It is my last day at work on the old job and we are taking down the computer at home. I will check back in when I get access on the new job, surely my new boss will let me surf a little. It will be the first time in my career I have a boss that likes to fish!!!!!

I am here in "sunny" (yea right) Florida. Trip was long and only problem was a blow out on the camper. We found a house already and it will have a place for most all my toys. Still have not gone fishing but the boy and I got our fresh and salt licenses ($64 for each of us "ouch").
No computer or e mail yet at the new job. Currently using my co-workers machine. Will check back later.
Thanks for all the support.
JR
