TBOT and Factory tour update

Good afternoon everybody. Yesterday Randy and I emailed each other about the Triumph Boat Owners of the Triangle. Due to his busy schedule I have told him I could take over this for him.

The first thing I want to work on is the Triumph factory tour. Randy gave me the contact name at Triumph, with whom he had been working with. I Triumph an email and they responded today telling me they have a weekly Mgrs. meeting on Wednesdays and they will revisit this item today. They are supposed to call me sometime in the next few days to discuss logistics.

Some of the things I am thinking about are some of the ideas Randy and other users came up with but here they are in no particular order.

1) Having this event on a Saturday to accomodate people who are having to travel.
2) Having some of the NC dealers involved either in presense or by donations (monetary or other)
3) Depending on the amount of money I can get donated, maybe having food catered by one of the local BBQ places.
4) Having this last for a while...possibly 4-5 hours? with the tour of the facilities, food, some entertainment (a buddy of mine owns a company called Bar Charter http://barcharter.com and I was thinking of having him bring his rig out to serve drinks and have music, serve the food, etc.
5) Maybe have some type of drawing of some item donated by a dealer?
6) Maybe some freebies from the factory? Huggers or something like that.
7)?????????????

I guess all of the above depends on Triumph, the dealers, and how many participants.

I am trying to make this a family event and also something that would be more than just going to the factory and walking through it. Maybe I am making something more out of this than it needs to be. I was just thinking that if people are going to be driving a couple of hours, it might make sense to have it as an event.

Please let me know what you think about this...please give me any ideas you have.

Also, please let me know what you would like to do as a group. What do we want the TBOT to be? Do we want to have monthly planned events, meetings, get togethers? What are some things you want to get out of this group? I am open for any and all suggestions.

You can either post on this thread or email me at kpiver@nc.rr.com

I look forward to hearing from you.

I'm still interested in the weekend tour. I think it would worth the seven hour drive for me to attend.
All the party stuff sounds great.

It was last September. Sorry you missed it. If there is a lot of interest perhaps we can organize another one later this year.

Hey BPayne,

I tried to get something going earlier this summer, but had no interest except from NCangler. I think my timing was bad, because the Southport fishing tournament was right around the corner when I posted.

Well, if you're interested in a get together, then that would be at least three of us, right? Would you prefer lake or sound? Raft-up or beach?

I had envisioned a group of us anchoring near/on a beach for a picknick lunch somewhere as a minimum. At the other end of the scale would be a cruise along the intracoastal watereway.

As far as lakes go, last I checked Gaston was the only one in the RDU area that wasn't low. Perhaps Humberto gave Jordan a boost. Otherwise, it's a relatively short trip to Little Washington. For a longer day, a cruise from Oriental down through Adam's Creek, past Moorhead to Cape Lookout (or Shackleford Banks) is a nice one.

Let me know. I'm always boating, so it woldn't take much to get me out on a Triumph owners get together. Our first one doesn't have to be fancy, it would just be cool to have a little plastic fleet meetup.
