I'm coming up Wednesday afternoon to arrive sometime on Thursday. I'll have the truck camper instead of the boat and be staying at the campground across the road from the Wal-Mart, Woodside RV Park. I canceled my room at the Captain's Cove Motel so maybe someone else can get it.
Looking forward to meeting all of you, some for the first time.
I'll bring my fishing gear just in case and y'all can give me some tips. I might try some shore fishing? Since my ferrets 'Mr. Stumpy & The Fred' are official registered Geocachers, we will be doing some Geocaching in the area on Thursday and Friday, time permitting. I've got over ten caches lined up to find.
Join in the fun if you want to.
See ya there!!

Got the "CarlyMad" here at Southport at the harbor. Ate at the CapeFear Rest. at the end of 211 last night.....get the stuffed flounder.

WalMart has plenty of frozen bait but need to hunt up some block ice, will try the tackle shop on FishFactory road.

Checked the WaveCast and things couldn't be looking better on radar. 1-2' seas and winds are low so will go scout and familiarize myself with the river and Atlantic a bit today.....the fish are biting from what I have heard.

Guess the plans are to meet at 6PM at the Moose Lodge for Capt's meeting?
Where's the Moose Lodge?

See ya'll soon, Emery

Well, for ice, most have "cubed" ice, not so crushed and lasts a while longer.
Trolled around Youpon and up to Bald Island and the bait was everywhere early, also flying fish.
See everyone tonight and in the AM!
Molar

Emery, Great to see you this weekend. I hope it was an enjoyable time for all. I wish the fish had been biting more. It was a beautiful day on the water though.

Really enjoyed just getting out in the boat. As you may have noticed my wife is very preganant and was a trooper fishing with me this weekend but couldn't handle going out as far as needed in a 190.

We went to the Virginius, Light House reefs and 9 mile rock areas. Marked alot of bait, bottom fish and structure. Found the "perfect" weedline, used outriggers, downriggers, stretches and surface lures with bait. They were just further out I guess....fishing.

Did catch a bluefish and then enjoyed boating over to "Provisions" restaurant and South Harbor Inn and the Italian Bisro. We were tired and it was raining pretty hard so we stayed at South Harbor Sat Nite, hope everyone enjoyed the festivities Sat night!

ps, my fishing buddy is due Sept 12th....give him a few years and we'll be back!
