6/23/05 Yellow Banks
Thursday ran into Johnnylite at Ventura marina went to Yellow Banks in snotty seas averaged about 14K on the channel crossing with more wind than I like in the AM glad to have rain gear. Slow fishing for 2 nice calicos and 1 just legal, 1 white fish and a mud marlin, just kept the 2 big CB for civichi. We bailed early the ride in quartering down hill not quite as wet as the ride out. Nice to meet Johnny and family hope he pulled out a few fish. Sounds like there’s some Sea Bass if you put in your time. The Calicos are in spawn mode but not on the chew without current . I’ll be back out soon as the wind lays down.

Glad you ventured out in the rough sea's....I hope they calm down enough by next weekend. I plan to take my pop's out for a spell, most likely to do some bottom / surface fishing...near the local kelp beds.
