Gearyg,

I would not doubt that we've seen each other. I launch almost exclusively out of Alamitos. Now just where is that secret spot at?

I would love to buddy up. Trying to get a feel for my 190, not certain SCI is possible for me. It would be at the extreme end of my range; 40 gallon tank. I launch out of Huntington Harbor. This coming weekend is out but the weekend of 8/23 is a go.

By the way dorado and yellowfin were on paddys less than 6 miles out of Dana Pt.

Thanks

Chris

Dodos only 6 miles???

Didn't make itto SCI, pounded around the 277,209 then beyond the 181,figured out too late ran over the better fishing to get to cleaner , better color, but slightly cooler empty water with lots of paddys, bait only.Moved back in to the 277 area.friend had paddy solo with 30+doritos. Size of some of the macs we had. Headed towards the 14, turned west into Cat channel, found the best water all day, right color 73 deeezsgrees, beeeyutiful. 3rd paddy and the dead money on board(fisherman wannabe) hooks up nice big Dodo, doesn,t know sheet about his gear, has it in full lockdown.....jump...jump...zzzzingPOW..all gone .Friends too.Weekend of 23rd sounds good.I,ll post before then about departure time for me from Los Alamitos. ch 72, 88a, call Nefarious Thanks for comeback Albacore 11

ZZZZZZzzzzzzziiiiiiinnnnnnggggggg POW! Fishing with newbies can be so frustrating. On the bright side you weren't on a party boat where they could have wrapped 6 to 12 other anglers.

I'll get things lined up for the 23rd.

Chris

I'll just use Albacore 11 on the radio. I have not named the boat yet.

So how did you guys do last weekend? Any pics. I'm planning on heading out to the Channel Islands over Labor Day weekend. Anyone else planning on being out there?

Katfish, I am launching out of Huntington Harbour at around 6 on Sat 8/22. If that date doesn't work, I am trying to set-up a Triumph boaters buddy boat trip sometime in the future.

I will be happy to keep you posted if interested.

Chris

I live in central Cal, about 4-5 hours north of Huntington, so it would take some doing to come down for a quick trip to Huntington right now( I work Mon-Fri darn it). I have family in Ventura I stay with when I go out of there. A Triumph buddy trip sounds great if there is enough lead time to set up lodging, etc. Keep me posted and let me know if it would work for an out of town guy.
