Cheap Plastic Welder Works!

Finally cranked up the cheap plastic welder from HarborFreight.com and I cannot believe how easy it is to use this stuff. It's like going from a manual screwdriver to cordless. It is also awesome at taking up old Rule sealant, just wave it over a couple of times and the Rule can just be peeled off, wow. I can't remimber how much it cost but am sure it had to be less than $50, if you own a plastic boat, they outta give one to you along with that $50 3M primer when you buy a boat.

It is so easy I have thought about adding a cuddy cabin to my Bay 190 and maybe a marine lumber "plank" to get rid of crew that disobeys or pees in my boat (5 year old nephew)haha

Emery

Did u use the the ropelene thru this gun or the rod u can order thru harbor ???i have a big roll of ropelene which looks like 1/8 or 3/16" which should fit thru this gun. I see in the rod kit for 5 bucks from harbor, you get abs and pvc rod which will work on drain pipe in a house etc. steve

several "rods" come with the welder. You do not install rods into the welder but melt the rod onto or into a surface with the welder which is really a hot air blow torch. A very fine stream of hot air which is aim-able and makes plastic kinda "goo".

I have used the rods supplied to fill screw holes....the white rods did fused the white holes together as well as the grey. Call Dick Merritt for additional rods and Ropelene powder.
