Talking elastomeric

I have seen some elastomeric roof sealer does anyone think this could work as good as the rule elastomeric marine sealer. Walmart located near me has one gallon cans of the roof sealer for $2.50. I was thinking if i painted the bottom of the boat and in the problem areas this could possible make the 2000 logic i have dry as a bone. Please give input on my idea. (plus the paint color is ultra white.)

as I understand it not all elastomeric sealants are the same. I believe that the term elastomeric describes a property of the sealant, but the rest differs from manufacture to manufacture. Also I question the effect on preformance the added weight and prob less than smooth surface will have on the boat, if it would even be worth the trouble.
