Trailer Recall?

Dick,

I read on the 186/190 forum about the trailer recall for 03'-04' models. What about the pre-Genmar boats that came with Wesco trailers. Mine came from you guys with a 4 bunk Wesco. However there is no forward keel support. I have thought about adding one but havent yet. What are your thoughts on this issue?

Mike

Thats exactly what I would like to know. I have seen rollers up front on other trailers for fiberglass boats, and am assuming that is what they are talking about. Dick, could you please help?

The bracket is a galv. assy. that fits over the side rails on the EZ Loader trailer. It has a V bunk arrangement of carpeted wood to support the bow.
It sits about where the H in the Triumph logo is on the right side.
The Wesco trailers have longer center bunks, so a support is not required.
If you have a EZ loader trailer under your 190, have your local dealer see if your trailer is eligible.

I was told by Brian at Triumph that pretty much everything thats not on a 2005 trailer needs work done on them. The reason they are only going from 2002 is because thats when Genmar bought them and when they started selling trailers with the boats. I had to send him pics of my boat and he said that he would send a diagram of whats needed, but thats about all they're going to do for me.

Genmar bought Logic in 2000, In 2003 they started to require Dealers to buy a Boat, Motor and Trailer package. Prior to that date, dealers were responsible to put the boats on trailers that meet the factory trailer specs.
We used Wesco trailers that had bunks that were longer down the centerline to support the bow. These boats have the unique capability of returning to the origional configuration when left in the water or on a properly bunked trailer for a few days. Don't forget, this mod. is for the 190 Galv. Trailers only.

Dick, do you have any photos or other documents on what the trailer mods are?

I've got a 2001 Logic 186 Cool Bay with an EZLoader Galvanized Trailer.

Thanks

...You're a good man for posting these pics.

I've been trying to get my dealer to get me the V-bunk, but it appears that they won't since I've got an '02. So Dick, will these eventually be available for purchase from you if I fail in getting it from my dealer? I'm certainly not going to give them any more of my cash based on recent phone-calls with them.

My dealer is no longer a Triumph dealer. He was horrible anyway, so that's no big loss. Todd/Triumph/EzLoader has already rebuilt my trailer once because my idiot dealer only install TWO bunks under the boat. I guess I'm out of luck.
