Trailer Lights

Stalker:

The lights are only attached to the boat while trailering. When I get to the ramp, I simply remove them and store them in the truck. I cut the connectors off of the tail lights, extended the wires enough to reach the trailer and soldered the connectors back on. Since the ground wire is bolted to the trailer, I soldered a quick disconnect on that wire. The bolts that come with the lights are not corrosion proof, so I'm going to get some stainless and replace them.

Hope this helps.

Posted this a while ago, but something must have happened because it isn't here. Hope I don't post twice.

I feel for you...I am so tired of my lights working and then not....I know when I got my boat I found 2 pinched wires, fixed....but I still have problems. Currently I fight with the fender lights, and the drivers side tail light only wont work, brake and turn work fine....I know it is a bad connection...buy so hard to find, since all the wires are inside the trailer frame. Just gets me so frustrated....Tempted to rewire on the whole thing on the outside for future ease of maintenance.

Update:
The lights were toast. I called EZ loader about a new set and they asked why. I told them the lights were cracked and full of water. They are going to send me another set, no charge. They said they had a lot of trouble with the early trailer models having problems with the lights. Mine is a 2005. Anyone else with trouble, may want to call. 1-800-398-5623 ext 230 (parts) have trailer serial number.
