Spare tire mount

On my 170 CC the spare is mounted with dealer supplied U-bolts and a pad-lock on the tongue, just behind the winch stand but in front of the curve of the bow of the boat. The spare is mounted horizontally. With the boat on the trailer, winch strap tight, the bow just kisses the tire.

The U-bolts fit around the tongue, up through two holes on the wheel. Pulling the nuts down tight will eliminate shaking or rattleing. Really very basic. I use keyed alike locks on my spare tire and hitch latch and the pin on my truck hitch receiver. Just one additional key on my ring.

If your boat is stored outside, a tire cover would help reduce UV damage. Mine is inside so this is not a problem.

Good luck.

I used this from Cableas on my 170CC:

I mounted directly in front of my winch just so the winch handle clears...works great. I hope this helps.

My spare is installed as Jim describes. Easy install and it is not in the way.
