Some of the 190's are sold on double axles. Ours came with a single. No towing problems at all. But it sure does make me wonder what's up with that.

Each state has it's own laws on trailers with reguards to min. weights for brakes, weights per axle, etc. Here is a short list that I edited (direct link) and posted on the Heartland web for our out of state customers.
http://www.heartlandmarinefl.com/Trailer/brake.html Having had both a dual (leaf axle, yuck) and now a single torsion (much better handling) plus my past experance in both the Coast Guard and in the private sector... If (big if) you can get away with a single axle it is much easier to piviot the boat down the ramp if the runs are short with a single axle trailer That though may not always possible with a 210.Enjoy!

I think it has to do with the trailer manufacturers more than anything. It is a weight thing. To put a 210 on a single axle you need much larger tires, to make the weight rating needed. Larger tires are more expensive as are the wheels they are mounted on and the brakes attached to their axles, which are also bigger as are the springs. It just takes beefier equipment all around. If they use the lighter (smaller) tires, wheels, brakes, springs and axles they need to go to tandem to get the weight hauling capability. I think they can make the trailers cheaper with the smaller running gear than they can the ones with the heavier duty single axles. Also with the smaller gear they can use straight axles instead of drop type and still keep the boat close to the ground. Side clearance is also easier. Thats the way I see it.
