You should be aable to get one at any marine store. Just match up the number of terminals on the switch and if it has a puch to prime feature. You should be able to get an aftermarket Sierra switch for about $20.

The motor is 2-stroke Yamaha 50TLRA. I am not sure yet if I'll need a switch, just checking on availability. I did a stupid thing of which I will be ashamed for a long time, but maybe some one will take a note of it. While connecting the battery, I didn't see the red positive wire, it fell down. But I saw one black wire and one one black wire with red insulation. Thinking it was +, I connected black to - and black with red to +. Sure enough, they are both -
I know, I called myself all those names when the smoke started coming from the concole. All ground wires coming to and from the ignition switch are either gone or the insulation is burned. I have not assessed the extent of the damage yet. I realize I shorted the battery. So far I checked tilt and trim, bilge pump. They work. Not sure about the switch, electrical parts on the motor, gauges. Any idea? Please, refrain from direct insults :-)

Hey, we all make mistakes and that was pretty gutsy of you to admit yours. I know I've done some really boneheaded stuff in my life and I know I will do more. You didn't hurt anyone but yourself. Thanks for your post...hopefully someone else will read this and not make the same mistake. Now to fix it...you may want to call your dealer and ask what problems might be lurking. At the very least, get a good multimeter and go over each system on your boat to make sure it will work when you need it. Most major systems on the boat should be protected by fuzes or circuit breakers...so I may not be as bad as you think. Please keep us up to date on how you make out.

gnm2140, I don't think you smoked your switch, but if you did, parts could run $100-$150.

Thanks guys, feel better now.
Here is the latest. Restored and insulated wires, turned the key. Starter works, fuel gauge works. On the weekend will pour some water in the bucket and will try to start.
