have any of you 150 owners mounted a rod holder in the gunwale? I'm not sure
if one will fit because of the angle of the outer hull. |

rod holders
I decided against going with those as there's no way for the water to drain out of them I went with a set of these...
![]() With the side mount and the rail mount, quite frankly they work but they are not perfect and I have not been happy with them, and since I use longer west coast saltwater rods they don't fit well. I'm planning on adding something better but I just don't know what to get yet as part of my fishing is trolling for salmon and the other part is drift fishing with 2-3 rods. |

I mounted these on my 170CC and love them:
They also have the rod extensions if you want the rods to sit higher off the sides. I got them from Cabelas...here's the link: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...300&id=0012292 I hope this helps.

rod holders
Jan,
Thanks for the reply. I was hoping to use flush mount rod holders, but I guess I'll have to reconsider. Please tell me more about the drainage issue - I thought that the inside of the gunwales was open to the bilge - no? Ernie |

No, if you go down through the top of the rail you are into the foam of the inner hull and I don't think you want to drain a lot of water into that area.
Go to the Triumph site and look at the first picture on "How to build a boat" and you will see an end shot of a cutaway boat and you will see what I mean. http://www.triumphboats.com/index.cfm?page=buildHP |
