150 DC leaning to starboard

With one person of equal weight on each side and going straight at about 30mph, the boat is leaning towards starboard. Doesn't feel right (actually, feels scary on waves)
Another issue. At full throttle max RPM is 3000 and max speed is about 35mph with two people of 360 lbs total. Doesn't look right.

Any input is appreciated.

Thank you, Dave. Sounds like a problem with the hull and a visit to a dealer, who is three hours away. I hope they will do it under warranty.
How about 2-stroke Yamaha 50 HP not going above 3000 RPM?

Thanks again,

Greg

2 strong 50 Hp

Dick, at Merritt Marine informed me that my 2 stroke 50 HP Mercury motor should turn about 5400 to 5600 RPM at full throtle with average weight in the boat. For my 17 ft logic he was spot on at 32 mph I turn 5400 rpm. He told me the motor operates best in this RPM range and to correct this I could change props with a different pitch. I would check with your dealer but 3000 rpm sounds real low.

As I am typing I thougth of something else. You speed sounds about right. I bet you just need to adust you tachometer. There should be an adjsutment on the back of the tach for different pole settings. Adjust until you see the motor idiling at about 800 rpm. I think the Mercury 50 hp is a 12 pole.

Hope this helps.

Eric

Thank you, Eric. I am going to give it one more try this weekend to see if it is my imagination or there is really a problem.
I set up an appointment with a dealer. He is not the one I bought the boat from, but the closest Triumph dealer. He agreed to look at the boat. He is in 1.5 hours vs 3 hours to the dealer who sold the boat.
By the way, has anybody dealt with Bekley's Marine in Albany, NY?

Greg

I brought the boat to the dealer, they said the trailer was not properly adjusted, transom was 8 inches behind the banks, hanging. That's changed the form of the hull, basically, it sagged. They adjusted the trailer and trimmed the hull. I assume it is better, but I don't really see a major improvement. Any way, beware of the trailer adjustment, make sure the boat is 100% on the banks.
Switching the subject, I am having hard time bringing it up on plane. I push the throttle all the way up, then it takes about a minute for the boat to get on plane. And sometimes the bow never goes down, with engine revving and me being frustrated. Is it trimming, pitch? What is the right pitch for 150 DC? I have 11.
