ditzbel- Cape Codder said it right. It handles the chop much better than a 15' boat should. I wouldn't take it into a hurricane, but it's great on pretty much anything you'll encounter on bay and inland waters or recreational boating channels.

By the way where is Edgewater, FL? If it's anywhere near Tampa I'd be happy to take you out in mine for a little test drive.

Thanks Dave, but we are on the east coast about 20 miles south of Daytona Beach.

I have a 150 Fish . . .

with a single side console and two tandem pedestal seats on port side. I am over 6' tall and even with the seat adjusted all of the way back, I am constantly bashing my knees on the console while I am getting in and out of the helm seat. I don't know if there is more space between the helm and console on the 170, but may be something to consider. The boat handles great in all conditions. On the 4th I had a load of three 12 year old and two adults and felt comfortable, although a bit tight. The hull handles waves and ship wake on the Columbia River fine. I have had waves over the bow and gotten a little wet, but the boat seems not to care. As most of the other 150 owners have stated, I would like more room, not necessarily for additional passengers, but for the crap that I always seem to carry around. A 170 would be a great choice with either the center console or with both consoles. Check out this review on BoatTest.com.

OK, here is another shot at looking at size.

The 215CC says 10 people and / or 2200 pounds. That 2200 pounds includes all passengers and other "stuff" like ice, drinks, food, fishing gear, etc.

On our 210CC, we do just great with 4 adults. Everyone has a backrest and a fairly comfortable seat (we had a backrest made for the front of the center console) .

OR, we do OK if adding 2 teenagers or kids that do not need all that comfort. That would be up to 6 adult size people.

Yes, we have had two adults and 7 teenagers tubing, but then the adults are the only ones that care about comfort.

If you are talking about a boat where at least 4 adults can ride with comfort, and are looking at a Center Console, then you need seats for 2 in front of the CC with 2 sitting behind the CC where the wheel is located. Sitting back by the motor is louder (even with a 4 stroke) plus they get all the spray in the face. To us, these seats are worthless (but we do like the storage underneath them).

Again, just our 2 cents worth.

Smile We bought it!!

We were only on the water for about 20 minutes but it was enough to convince both of us this was what we wanted.
The 60 HP Yamaha 4 stroke is new so we couldn't go faster then 2000 RPM, but that was fine.

The real test for us was that it felt big enough for us and was the seating comfortable. Yes to both. This boat has an additional front "fishing" seat which my wife really liked. The boat reminds me of a little sports car for the water.

We added a GPS/Fish Finder which will be no cost since we get a $775 store credit from Yamaha plus a $99 credit from the dealer.

Our down payment is paid and we should pick it up on Tuesday. Can't wait.

After a few times out on the ICW I'll get back with more comments.

Thanks to everyone for your comments.

Wayne

Ditzbel2 - Sorry for the time lapse in my response. This is my second season with my 150 and I would like to move up to a 170/190. The 150 is perfect for 2, but I get knocked around a bit trying to get through the Great Egg Harbor Inlet in South Jersey. I would spend more time in the ocean if I had something bigger.
Jan - nice tuna - how far offshore were you?
