Newbee owner of 2002 150 Cool here. I take the cushions out for towing but have found that the stern seat lid covers pop open and flap around in the wind while I'm towing. Has anyone found a good fastner solution (other than duck tape) to secure these?
Secondly, I'm looking for a pair of rubberized mounting "clips" to hold a small oar under the stern light holding brackets. Anyone have a source and product code for these? Thanks for your help...I've learned a lot from reading your postings. |

I usually just leave my seat cushions attached but make sure they are snapped down securely...I haven't lost one yet. You could go through the process of installing a latch in the lid...I put one on my baitwell and it works great...was fairly straight forward with the installation...took about 1/2 an hour total.
For your oar holder, I found these at Boater's World on line. Here's a link: Percs Inc. SOF-LOC Boat hook/Oar/Gaff Holders - PH2A - BoatersWorld.com For some pics of the lid latch, try here: Message - Triumph Boat Owners - Photo Gallery Message - Triumph Boat Owners - Photo Gallery Let me know if you have any questions. Congrats on the "new" boat. Tight lines.

When I towed my 170CC home from Orlando, I removed the rear seat cushions and the rear lids opened up too.
Since that time, I keep the rear cushions on. Because the front of the cushion slides on and the rear snaps on, I don't see a problem. However, I do remove the front bow cushion and all other flyable objects. I've seen the "clips" at Wal Mart in their marine/auto department and west marine. You should be able to find them anywhere. Don't forget to use Rule sealent in the screw hole. You can purchase the sealent at Merritt Marine...your Triumph Boat factory dealer! Good luck and congrats on the boat.

Great DIY pics on your bait well clip, Chuck!
What's the best way to determine where to drill the hole once the lower piece is screwed in place to be sure they meet correctly? Thanks again for the help... |

Chuck..Great idea with the marker..
Barry...Thanks a ton for the clip suggestion and the website. PS I finally found that Colorite is the supplier for the 2002 Yamaha 50 touch up paint I needed. Apparently Yamaha just let that be farmed out... Corlorite seems to have most all of the specialty paints now that Tempo has gone or been bought. Thanks again... |

ajs08648,
If you do not want to install a latch like Cagrove did you can go to Boaters World or Wally World and get some industrial strength Vel Cro strips and place it under your seat hatches. You have to place them where the hatch is flush with the deck. You may have to use 94 Primer to make sure it sticks like your boat letters. It worked great on the 170CC that I had at highway speed. Thanks for another great idea John. I really appreciate the suggestion. A lot less enginering and less of a chance for this klutz to screw it up...
